See how your knowledge connects
Open your Data Base as a graph: every record a node, every link a line. Find the clusters, the orphans, and the notes your work leans on most.
Tables are good for entering things. A graph is good for seeing them. Once your notes, goals and tasks are linked, the graph shows what depends on what, and what's floating on its own.
What you need
- A base with a few weeks of linked records. The Knowledge and Progress packs together work best, because the pack bridge links notes to goals, projects and tasks.
1. Open the graph (3 min)
Open your base and switch to Graph. The header shows how many nodes, links and tables are in view.
Useful controls:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tables & filters | Choose which tables and rows appear. Save a selection as a preset |
| Switch 2D / 3D | 2D for reading, 3D for big bases |
| Legend | Hide or show a table's nodes |
| Search records… | Jump to a node by name |
| Recenter / Reset view | Get back to the whole picture |
2. Read a node (2 min)
Select a node to see its fields and links. Expand loads its neighbours; Expand all links follows every connection one step out. Open record takes you to the row.
3. Three things worth looking for (5 min)
- Hubs. Notes with many links are your load-bearing knowledge. Make sure they're current.
- Orphans. Nodes with no links are captured but not connected. Link them, or mark them inactive (
is_activeoff). - Goals with no notes. A goal that nothing links to is a wish. Ask what it relies on.
4. Ask your AI the same questions (3 min)
The graph is also available to your AI (get_graph, get_record_neighbors):
Which of my notes are linked to the most tasks? Are any of them older than six months?
List knowledge records with no links to goals, projects or tasks.
5. Save presets for the views you reuse (2 min)
For example, "Knowledge only" for tidying notes, or "Goals → projects → tasks" for planning. Presets live per base; one that refers to tables a base doesn't have is shown as unavailable.
Check it worked
- You found at least one orphan and linked it or marked it inactive.
- You have one preset you'll come back to.
